Every cricket fan will eagerly wait to watch the Ashes test series that is conducted for every two years. The host for the series will be either Australia or England. The first ever Ashes test match was played in the year 1882 and until this match, England was never beaten. But the historic win at this match made the entire English crowd at Oval go silent.
From this year, a rivalry has developed between the two countries and Ashes is considered the most celebrated rivalry in cricket sport at the international level.
Till this year’s Ashes series, 76 series have been conducted at various locations in Australia and England of which 48% of test series were won by Australia and England was victorious in 44% of total ashes series.
The score of 201 is the highest individual score ever made in the Ashes by a losing team and the record was set by Syed Gregory at Australia. In the year 1930, Sir Don Bradman has created a history by scoring 334 runs off just 448 balls at Leeds and it still remains the highest score by an individual player in the entire Ashes series.
This year’s Ashes battle would be one of the finest series ever as most of the players in both sides are inexperienced and it is an ideal time for them to display their cricketing skills and win the cup for their nation.
