In August 2008, Facebook has reached 100 million users and in late December 2009, it has generated whopping Ad revenue of $746 million through the hits.
In the year 2006, internet has seen a new social media network named 'Twitter' and within a period of 4 years, the Twitter has grown abundantly and starting promoting its tweets & trends. According to estimates made by eMarketer in December 2011, Twitter has generated Ad revenue of $44.6 million.
Facebook, the leading social media network has introduced ADS API and sponsored stories which in turn helped the network to enhance its Ad revenue to $3.2 billion. Several other social networks such as Yahoo, foursquare, LinkedIn are implementing different strategies in social media advertising to earn millions of dollars.
